January 2019, a magnificent 7 playlist

Probably the best reverb band to come from Ireland since … MBV. After the EP released last year, they are preparing a LP for this year. They were not happy with the EP sound …. well it is very good. Can not wait to hear the music and sound of the LP.

This the sign of great artists: to amaze. Both Andi Josi’s superb melodies and texture, and Krissy Vanderwoude, that changed her way of singing to be more vulnerable and raw than usual, have impressed us … again.

Life on Venus is of course one of our favourite bands. Check the collaboration we did with them to discover the band and their music. Their new song is really good and propose change of textures from the LP.

Soon on Noise Artists, Soot Sprite have released a first EP last year. All the melodies and arrangements are simple and extremely efficient, stripping Shoegaze of the sometimes too many effects and exposing what it is about.

‘The Ocean Boy’ is a Shoegaze duo from Rome, Italy. They released their first EP from which this is extracted. Very promising.

‘Frankenchrist’ are from Brazil and create their music in the Noise Pop / Post Rock universe. This is their new production.

Taneli Lucis is a Dream Pop band from Lima, Peru. Their lo-fi approach is endearing. All is slightly off: off beat, off tune, off kilter and it works. They are like Dream Pop music in a dream.
