Stellamaris: Supernatural EP

Supernatural is the new 2 songs EP from Stellamaris released in on November 15th. You may refresh your memory with our earlier posts on their music and with their interview both in English and Portuguese.

The 2 songs are called Supernatural and Crystal Clear.

" Supernatural is a song about believe in something bigger than us, and we try to sound like mbv again, hope it works."

The sound of MBV is there all right, put through Stellamaris distinctive lo-fi filter. You can feel the music sucking you in slowly, gently.

While MBV throw you into a whirlwind of dense sound, Stellamaris just caresses you with their music, like a siren tempting you. This is a really relaxing song that to immerse yourself in, like a nice hot bath.

" Crystal clear is a song with a chorus, little beat more easy to listen, lyrics talk about when something ends and we have to realise it"

This song is not as relaxing than the previous song, which fits perfectly with the intent that Mauricio describes. The loops and chords are slightly disonnent, off-kilter showing some of the stress due to the realisation that something ends. This is a prefect accord between the content and the container.

Note that very soon after this EP, Stellamaris released another song called To here knows when.It is a cover of a My Bloody Valentine song
