"Evanescent Film" is a split EP released in 2019 by two bands, SEE THE EYE from Indonesia and WHALE DONE from Taiwan. The name idea of the EP came from Whale Done after summarizing the contents of the entire lyrics of the EP.
The idea of making the split EP started on the social media where one of the members from each band contacted each other and discovered they both wanted to make an EP through their casual conversation. The split EP consists of one more upbeat song and one calmer song from each band, which makes the whole listening experience more well-rounded.
SEE THE EYE's first track "Ghost" begins with uplifting and energetic music to listen to while driving at night on a motor scooter trip. Exhausted from a day of work, the lively music leads us to swiftly drive pass people at the streets like a phantom that passes too fast to be seen clearly; in other words, like seeing an illusion of a "ghost". Although the illusion lasts only for a short while, it does not have any restrictions on its shape, allowing us to enter the music world of "Evanescent Film" in a free form.
SEE THE EYE's "Fake Fate" comes next with neat, solid guitar noises and calm singing. The structure of the first half part of the track resembles an endless loop of going to work and going back home, a life routine that is orderly and arranged. However, when we reach the outro of the song, like a breath of freedom, we say goodbye to our past fate and free ourselves from the constraints of life.
WHALE DONE's track "Orphan of Asia" takes the listener on a vacation to sail on the sea with its lucid and floating atmosphere. We sail on a sailboat in the midst of the ocean under the bright sun and fresh winds with the calm waves of music. Suddenly, a group of dolphins begins to surface next to the sailboat to swim in harmony with the ethereal humming voice of the song.
In the final track, WHALE DONE's "Summer Night", we return to the beach after sailing to have a beach party during a hot summer night with the upbeat and playful tunes of the track playing. Amid the light-hearted conversations, laughter, and alcohol, this fun "summer night" is one of the most amazing nights of life.
Overall, these music pieces might not be the most perfect for everyone, but like life, there is always room for improvement. Moreover, the music inspires the listener to relive forgotten perceptions. It inspires us to feel a sense of freedom after struggling in society, remember that there are lots of natural landscapes waiting to be discovered in the world, and think of our friends whom we used to have fun together. When carefully listened, it is obvious that the two bands have passion and soul for music.
About the bands
See The Eye are a shoegaze band formed in early January 2016. Abee (Bass) and Harry (Guitar), who are friends, had the idea of forming the band because of the same interest in music. They invited Arya (Drum) and Danny (Guitar) to complete the formation of the band's project.

「Evanescent Film」是在2019年由兩隊不同國家的樂隊合作而成，分別由來自印尼的See The Eye以及來自台灣的Whale Done鯨魚號。EP名字的靈感是來自於鯨魚號在總括了整張EP的歌詞後得來的。創作這張EP的契機來自兩隊樂隊各自的一個成員在社交網站上相遇並隨著輕鬆的對話發現大家有想推出EP的意欲。這張EP裡收錄了兩隊樂隊的兩首偏輕快和兩首偏輕柔的歌，讓聽眾獲得更全面的聆聽體驗。
第一首See The Eye的「Ghost」讓聽眾一邊聽著充滿朝氣與活力的音樂一邊在夜晚的道路上踏上騎小綿羊機車的旅程。經過一整天疲累的工作，我們聽著充滿生氣的音樂引導我們飛快地駛過行人，駛過的影子像魅影般看不清楚，彷彿看見一個「ghost」的幻象一樣。這幻象雖然短暫，卻沒有任何形態的束縛，讓我們以自由的姿態進入「Evanescent Film」的音樂世界。
下一首See The Eye的「Fake Fate」奏出俐落、剛直的電吉他與平靜的歌聲。前半部分一板一眼的音樂就像我們人生裡一直上班然後回家，工序般不斷循環的人生模式。然而當歌曲的尾奏來到，我們彷彿能夠呼吸到自由，然後對過去的命運說再見並從人生的束縛中解放。
Whale Done的「Orphan of Asia」用透亮且浮游的音樂氣圍帶著聽眾一起出海。我們乘著帆船到大海上，在明媚的陽光與涼爽的清風下聽著像風平浪靜的音樂。霍然間，一群淺游在水面的海豚，愉快地依傍住帆船邊遊行，像要跟著哼著空靈的歌聲一起暢泳。
最後一首Whale Done 的「Summer Night」讓我們從大海回到海灘上，在炎熱的夏天的夜晚聽著輕快又調皮的音樂，暢玩在這個海灘派對裡。在愉快的對話、怡然的笑聲和醉人的酒精之中，這個＂Summer Night＂是個一生難忘的夜晚。
總括來說，這些作品可能都不是所有人心中最完美的，在音樂上永遠也有成長的空間，像我們的人生一樣。但這些音符卻能夠觸發到人們遺忘已久的感受，使人感受到掙扎過後的自由感、記起世上還是有值得發掘的自然美景和回憶起那些曾經相聚一刻的好友。只要細心聆聽便能夠感受到這兩支樂隊對音樂的滿腔熱情及音樂靈魂。
關於樂隊
See The Eye在2016年的1月的印尼組成。貝斯手Abee與吉他手Harry早已經是相識的朋友又因為有相同的音樂興趣，所以有了組樂隊的主意。他們之後邀請鼓手Arya與吉他手Danny加入樂隊，成立了瞪鞋樂隊See The Eye。
